to be or not to be

Potential

I could have been a poet
I could have been a lover
I could have seen a saint
But there are no resources or time

Such a blessed body
Such a gifted mind
Such a curse is potential
Such a burden to bear
But it will be arrogant
To say I'm rare

Why become a philosopher?
Why become a star?
Why become a prodigy?
When there are others who are

the only thing we have in common is that we're different

This image is one of the most powerful human rights messages I have ever seen. Unfortunately racial attitudes are still prevalent across the world, and here in Australia.

Facebook seems to be a hotbed of xenophobia, with hundreds of groups dedicated to the vilification of non-Anglo Australians. While anti-racist campaigners regularly monitor the sites and report them to Facebook - with many being closed - the groups just re-open a couple of days later.

Play your part and make a stand every time you see or hear of someone being discriminated against because they are different.

a matter of copyright

Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else’s opinions, their ideas a copy, their convictions a mimicry, their passions a quotation.

Breath Of Life by Erasure

Never had a point of view
'Cause my mind was always someone else's mind
I never had to tell a lie
'Cause I left the choices up to them
Don't know why, but I did

The best way to make your dreams come true is to wake UP!

the truth well told

The truth is not a majority vote.

no place for YOU + ME

The Waiting Place … for people just waiting.

Waiting for a train to go or a bus to come, or a plane to go or the mail to come, or the rain to go or the phone to ring, or the snow to snow or waiting around for a Yes or No or waiting for their hair to grow. Everyone is just waiting.

Waiting for the fish to bite or waiting for wind to fly a kite or waiting around for Friday night or waiting, perhaps, for their Uncle Jake or a pot to boil, or a Better Break or a string of pearls, or a pair of pants or a wig with curls, or Another Chance. Everyone is just waiting.

No! That’s not for you!

Somehow you’ll escape all that waiting and staying. You’ll find the bright places where Boom Bands are playing. With banner flip-flapping, once more you’ll ride high! Ready for anything under the sky. Ready because you’re that kind of a guy!

YOU are stardust

Every atom in your body came from a star that exploded. And the atoms in your right hand probably came from a different star than the atoms in your left hand. It's the most poetic thing I know about physics; we are all stardust.

You wouldn't be here if stars hadn't exploded, because the elements you're made up of - carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, iron - weren't created at the beginning of time. They were created in the nuclear furnaces of stars, and the only way for them to get into your body is if those stars exploded and died. So forget Jesus. The stars dies so that YOU could be here today.
